Depression is a mental state that is identified by an attitude of pessimism and melancholy. The mental state can be related to sadness, tearfulness, helpless, hopeless and discouragements. When individuals suffer from depression, there's a reduction in the number of neurotransmitters in the central nervous system. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers of the brain. Mood regulation is a role of three transmitters namely dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine. The decrease of these substances directly or indirectly affects one's mood.
